Design Review - Miramar Community Rep
Miramar lacks a Community Rep on the Coastside Design Review Committee that reviews new residential development for compliance with Coastside Design Review Standards. Application deadline is Nov 10 for appointment of 1 Community Rep and 1 Alternate.


Affordable Housing 
Development plans have been submitted for 71-unit affordable housing community at Carlos/Sierra in Moss Beach. First step in County approval process is Pre-Application Public Workshop Sept 20, 6-8pm, El Granada School (notice). Read more.

SMC Parks Dog Management Committee is developing dog-management policy for County Parks.

Draft Policy Recommendations for public review


Comprehensive Transportation Management Plan (CTMP) is being developed to address cumulative traffic impacts of Midcoast development on Highway 1 & 92. Draft plan expected for public review late 2017.



Comprehensive planning update of Princeton area land use plans, development polices and zoning regulations began in 2013. Draft plan for public review: fall 2017.

October 10 Regular MCC Meeting is postponed to October 17

There will be no MCC meeting on our regular meeting date, October 10.  This meeting has been postponed to October 17.

The reason for this change is that the County will provide an updated draft Highway 1 Study and Action Plan to the MCC by 10/17, giving the community the opportunity for preliminary review/discussion in preparation for the regular 10/24 MCC meeting which Supervisor Horsley and Steve Monowitz will attend to discuss Highway 1 and related issues. 

Agenda for October 17 will follow as we get closer to the date.

SamTrans proposes bus service changes.

SamTrans Coastside public meeting - ask questions - give feedback:
Tuesday, October 16, 6:00 - 7:30pm
Main St. Park, 1101 Main St., Half Moon Bay

Coastside bus routes proposed for consolidation:

17 would continue to operate between Pacifica and areas south of Half Moon Bay (Pacifica service would be extended to 7 days/week).

294 would operate only between Half Moon Bay and San Mateo at El Camino, adding 90-minute frequency for weekends. Riders would transfer between the two routes in Half Moon Bay.

Harbor District Candidates’ Forum Sept. 26

At Wednesday’s regular MCC meeting the League of Women Voters will moderate a forum of the six candidates for Harbor District. The candidates will make opening statements followed by a question and answer period.  The public is encouraged to attend and submit questions.  The forum portion of the meeting starts promptly at 7:30 - at Seton Medical Center, Marine Blvd, Moss Beach. Please park in the visitor's lot - first left coming uphill to Seton.

Silicon Valley Watershed Summit - Sept. 22

The Silicon Valley Watershed Summit will be held from 8:30am to 2:30pm at Foothill College.  The summit is a gathering of activists and elected officials, agency staff and non-profit leaders, and the newly-interested, to learn about and take steps to improve our local watersheds in Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties.  This event  will focus on *Big Picture* issues and also effective location organization.

Midcoast Parks and Recreation Committee Meeting


There will be a meeting of the Midcoast Parks and Recreation Committee on Tuesday, September 11 at 7:30pm in the Meeting Room of the Granada Sanitary District (3rd Floor, 504 Avenue Alhambra, El Granada, CA 94018.  The meeting will be chaired by Sam Herzberg of San Mateo County Parks.
