SMC Supervisors Consider Cannabis Regs Dec 5

San Mateo County Board of Supervisors will consider draft regulations for Cannabis commercial greenhouse cultivation in unincorporated areas of the County:  Dec 5, 2017, 9:00AM,
          at 400 County Center, Redwood City.

The environmental review & draft ordinance were released for public comment at a series of Coastside venues in Oct/Nov (presentation), following nearly a year of study (Dec 2016 / Jul 2017) during a temporary moratorium on commercial non-medical marijuana activity.

The draft ordinance provides for commercial cultivation within greenhouses with a Business License with extensive operational requirements, oversight and enforcement.

The City of Half Moon Bay is working on their own cannabis cultivation ordinance. (11/21/17 staff report / 11/29/17 news article & opinion piece)

Recently released State of California regulations will go into effect 1/1/2018, subject to any more restrictive local odinances.

UPDATE 12/5/17: The Board of Supervisors voted 5-0 to approve the greenhouse cannabis cultivation ordinance and prohibit for another year all other commercial cannabis-related activities.
